SCHOOL ACTIVITIES
1. Legal Education Seminar at UBAYA
All Lower Secondary students of Little Sun School participated in a legal educational seminar at the Universitas Surabaya (UBAYA) to gain a deeper understanding of basic legal knowledge. During the first session, our students learn about different types of laws and the consequences of committing crimes, with a special focus on the impact of bullying in schools. In the second session, our students observed a court simulation (trial court), allowing them to experience what a real courtroom is like, how judges make decisions, and to understand the emotional and social impacts on victims and other parties involved. The third session included a campus tour, where our students explored UBAYA’s facilities, learned about various faculties, and enjoyed lunch together at the campus cafeteria.
Through this visit, we hope that our students will gain valuable awareness of legal responsibilities, empathy for others, and a better understanding of higher education environments. This experience is expected to encourage students to become more responsible, law-abiding, and respectful individuals in society.
2. Chinese Got Talent
Every year in February, Little Sun School – Lower Secondary organizes Chinese Got Talent, a special talent competition that provides our students with a platform to showcase their abilities and creativity in Chinese arts and performance.
In this event, our students demonstrate a wide range of talents such as Wushu (武术), Chinese drumming (打鼓), Chinese calligraphy (写书法), poetry recitation (朗诵), singing (唱歌), traditional Chinese dance (中国舞蹈), and along with many other performances. Through this competition, our students are encouraged to build confidence, improve their performance skills, and prepare themselves for future growth. The judging panel is also supported by native Chinese speakers, providing our students with authentic feedback and professional guidance to further enhance their language and cultural understanding.
Chinese Got Talent not only celebrates our students’ talents, but also nurtures their creativity, courage, and cultural appreciation. We hope this program continues to inspire our students to explore their potential, express themselves confidently, and grow into globally minded individuals.
3. Math and Science Day
At the end of every semester, students of Little Sun School – Lower Secondary participate in Math Science Day, a special program designed to introduce them to science, technology, and modern innovations. Through this program, our students explore various topics related to technology and scientific advancement, helping them understand how mathematics and science are applied in real life. Last year, our students visited Widya Mandala University, where they learned how to create their own websites and develop simple online games, gaining hands-on experience in digital skills and creative problem-solving. Math Science Day encourages our students to think critically, experiment with new ideas, and develop curiosity toward technology in a fun and interactive way.
This program aims to inspire our students to become innovative learners who are not only strong in academics, but also ready to face the challenges of a rapidly changing digital world. We hope Math Science Day continues to spark our students’ interest in science, technology, and lifelong learning.
